General meeting of the member of Russian Academy of Social Sciences (RASS) was held in the Presidential Hall of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS). During the meeting a new body of the RASS Presidium was elected. It includes: Osipov G.V. – President of RASS, academician of RAS, Director of Chairman of RASS Board of Academics Zhukov V.I. – first Vice-President of RASS, academician of RAS, director of Rector of Russian State Social University (RSSU), Deputy Chairman of the Board of Academics, Torkunov A.V. – Vice-President of RASN, corresponding member of RAN, rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations – University under the Ministry of International Affairs of Russia Shulus A.A. – Vice-President of RASS; doctor of science, economics; professor; rector of Kodin M.I. – Vice-President of RASS, doctor of science, sociology; professor, pro-rector of RSSU Gudkov I.V. – Chief scientific secretary of RASS; New members of the RASS Board of Academics were elected, among them:

Zinaida T. Golenkova – member of RASS Board of Academics; doctor of science, philosophy; professor; Deputy Director of the RAS Institute of Sociology Igor D. Panfilov – member of RASS Board of Academics; doctor of science, economics; professor, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Peace Fund;

Jean N. Toschenko – member of RASS Board of Academics; corresponding member of RAS; editor-in-chief of the “Social research” magazine During the second part of the meeting President of RASS, academician of RAS G. Osipov delivered a report “Russians in the modern world”.
