Īn the occasion of the motherland departure of His Excellency Thongsavan
Phomvihan, Ambassador of Lao DPR in Russian Federation the official
reception was held at the Laotian embassy in Moscow on February 17,2009.
The reception were attended by Ambassadors and diplomats of the states
of South Eastern Asia and Pacific region, diplomatic officials of
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as well as other guests. The
Russian side were presented by Deputies of the state Duma,senior
officials of the Russian-Laotian friendship sosiety, representatives of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other high ranking officials of
ministries and departments including Moscow Goverment executives.
Scientists and other public figures were also invited.
The garthred guests marked with satisfaction in their speeches the
achievements of Lao PDR in international activity, particually in the
region of ASEAN countries
as well as the development and strenthening of the bilateral
intergovemental ties betwen our countries. For the above activitity the
Ambassador of Lao PDR H.E. Thongsavan Phomvihan was rewarded with Order
of Honour and Merit by the Russian Committee of war veterans.The party
was held in friendly and cordial atmosphere.
