Deputy Prime Minister of Lao PDR,Foreign Minister Thonglung Sisulit paid an
official visit to Moscow on June 17-19,2009
In the course of the visit Mr.Sisulit met deputy Prime-Minister of the
RF Goverment, Minster of Finance A.Kudrin. During the meeting the parties
discussed perspectives of the trade and economic cooperation between Russia
and Laos.
International policy problems affecting interest of the both parties
were touched upon during the meeting with the RF Foreign Minister S.Lavrov.
Being the Chairman of the laotian part of the Intergovermental
Commission Mr.Sisulit took part in the VII-th meeting of the Russian Lao
Intergovermental Commission
on trade-and-economic and science -and-technical cooperation held in Moscow
on June 19,2009. The Russian delegation was headed by Chairman of the
Russian part of the above Commission, Head of the State Federal Statistic
department V.Sokolin.
The results reached in 2007-2008 in the sphere of mutural trade and
economic cooperation as well as the measures aimed for further development
of the bilateral ties in any fields of economics were considered at the
meeting.The Protocol singned underlines in paticular the increasing
contribution of the "MK Group" companies to the development of the special
printing industry, busines ties with the State Central Bank of Laos as well
as support the projects in the construction activity of the series
hydroelectric power plants worked up by "Region-Oil"LLC.
At the state reception held in TASS-club building and sponsored by the
Russian-Laotian Friendship Society and "MK-SP" company the distinguished
guest and members of the Laotian delegation were welcomed by Chairman of
the Board of the Russian-Laotion Friendship Society Mr.V.Sokolin, Deputy
Chaiman of the Moscow Goverment Mr. G.Muradov, Deputy Head of the Committee
of the State DUMA Mr.Yu.Medvedev, the first deputy of Chaiman of the
Russian Peace Fund, academician I.Panfilov, member of the Board of the
Russian-Laotion Friendship Society,"MK-SP" Director General,doctor N.Ustinov
and other high ranking representatives of the russian departments and Moscow
goverment. The reception was also attended by the Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lao PDR to the RF
Somphong Sichaleune. In the begining of the reception representatives of the
russian Region Oil LLC and Laotian Depatment of Energy signed Memorandum of
the construction of series hydroelectric power plants in Laos. The reception
was held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
