To honor the visit of the official delegation of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR headed by its Vice-Chairman Saysomphon Fomvikhan to the Russian Federation the Russian Peace Fund and Russian-Lao Friendship Society gave a dinner at the "Restoration" club. The guests were welcomed by the Coordinator of relations with the Lao Parliament, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on economic policy, enterprise and tourism Yu. Medvedev, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Peace Fund E. Sutormina, managers of the Russian-Lao Friendship Society - academician V. Maslin and academician I. Panfolov.

The parties noted the strengthening of Russian-Lao scientific, cultural and business relations. Days of Vientiane were held in Moscow. Geological survey and telecommunications enterprises were established. Construction of a hydro plant in Lao PDR is planned.
